C. Michael Montgomery
Michael Montgomery specializes in eminent domain, public law, and real estate matters. He advises public utility clients on organizing and managing large-scale private and public entity acquisition projects. He also has deep experience addressing the complex issues which occur prior to possession of property by a condemning authority, and he advises clients on the eminent domain process and how best to handle cases for his condemning authority clients. In addition to real estate condemnation and infrastructure projects, Mr. Montgomery assists clients on large, complex real estate deals involving property acquisition and blocking multiple tracts of land together.
Representative cases include: the CPS Cagnon to Kendall electric transmission line project in Medina and northwest Bexar Counties; the CPS Green Mountain transmission line project and related substations; representation of a short line railroad corporation for the acquisition of a rail spur right-of-way in North Texas; representation of the City of Victoria in acquiring property for a water and sewer line project in Victoria County; acquisition of right-of-way for the construction of a jet fuel pipeline extending from east San Antonio at Loop 410 and IH-10E to the San Antonio International Airport; acquisition of land for VIA Metropolitan Transit for use in the Kel-Lac Park and Ride Project on I-90 West; and representation of interstate and intrastate natural gas pipeline companies in the acquisition of easements and related rights-of-way for the construction of gas pipeline facilities.
